Mumbai: The Rotaract Club of Mithibai College organised Kiran...A Ray of Hope!, a talent show for physically and mentally challenged children, orphans and underprivileged kids. Unlike most other shows, Kiran was not a competition but a platform where the children could showcase their talents.

Held at Bhaidas Hall in Vile Parle (W), the show started at 3 pm with a group of orphans performing the musical The Entertainer. “We had 177 performers from six schools. This is the fourth anniversary and the response has been growing each year. We hope to get more performers and a bigger crowd next year,’’ said Sowmya Warrier, chairperson of the organising committee. A group of participants, who are in the care of a charitable institute, had come all the way from Valsad in Gujarat.

Radha, the parent of a child with cerebral palsy, said, “When we watch our children enjoy their performance, it brings us more joy than any award in the entire world can.’’
